About the Phlebotomy Technician program
The Phlebotomy Technician program is an 8-week, 101-hour program delivered in person or as a hybrid. After completing the course you will be able to collect blood and process blood and body fluids. Phlebotomy technicians find employment in laboratories, hospitals and other healthcare settings.
Hybrid students join weekly live Zoom lectures and attend lab in person on Thursdays (day or evening session, chosen by the start of the course).
Schedule: Class meets Tuesdays 9:00am–2:00pm or 6:00pm–10:00pm, with lab during the last 2 hours. Hybrid lab on Thursdays.
What you'll learn
- Perform venipunctures on adult patients (minimum 30 venipunctures and 10 capillary sticks)
- Demonstrate safe, aseptic technique and infection control
- Handle, transport and process specimens correctly
- Understand legal implications and medical terminology related to phlebotomy
